Keren Hayesod-United Israel Appeal (UIA), through its campaigns worldwide, provides critical funding for the State of Israel and the Jewish people. The primary objective of the Australian campaign, known as the UIA Refugee Relief Fund, is saving the lives of Jews who face physical danger and are subject to persecution in the countries in which they live.
Through a partnership between Israel and Diaspora communities, UIA mobilizes support for Israel and the rescue of Jews in distress by encouraging and assisting in Aliyah (immigration) and absorption. In doing so, the UIA strengthens Jewish identity, fortifies the fabric of Israeli society and reinforces solidarity within the Jewish people.
UIA in Western Australia is led by the President, the Chairman, the Board of Governors and the Executive. The Executive, which is headed by the Chairman, comprises 8 members and a professional Executive Director from Israel, who together establish and implement the campaign’s strategies. In addition, a dedicated women’s committee runs the Women’s Division and a valued group of volunteers assist the leadership in achieving its fundraising targets as well as with other aspects of our work.
Contributions to the United Israel Appeal Refugee Relief Fund in Australia are tax-deductible.
